How to cut a video

To cut a video, select it in the timeline by left clicking on it, take the play-head to the desired time you want and use the cut button on the left side of the screen or simply press "S" on the keyboard. Now your clip will be split in two separate parts that you can move around as you wish.

To trim the video just grab it from its left or right side and drag towards the middle of the video.

How to delete a video section

To remove a video section first you need to separate that section by doing one or two cuts as presented in the first video above. Make the first cut where the beginning of the section you want to remove and the second cut at it's end. Next click on that new section to select it and press "Delete" on the left side of the screen or use the Delete key on the keyboard.

You can delete a video section and connect videos together by using Ripple Delete. To use Ripple Delete right click an object in the timeline and select it or select a clip and press Shift + Delete on your keyboard.

When it comes to adding media files in Flixier you have a lot of flexibility. You can use files from your local device or import from cloud services like Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive. You also have the option to use external libraries like Pexels, Unsplash or Pixabay and you can even record yourself using a webcam and a microphone.
Let's see how all that is done!

Import from your device

Follow these steps to import media from your device:

Make sure your Library is selected in the top right corner.
Click the blue Import button.
Click on My Device and now you can browse and select your media.
Now click the Import All button.

TIP 1: Your files will start the upload process to our cloud service. Still, in most cases you will be able to start using your media right away. The only limitation is that you need to wait for the files to upload to save the project.

TIP2: In some cases while using the import window you might see a message saying "Unable to fetch preview", that is just a warning and you can continue importing the files.

Import from YouTube or Sound-cloud

To import media from YouTube or Soundcloud you need to do 3 simple steps:

Click on the blue Import button in the Library.
A new input will appear where all you need to do is paste a video or sound link that you can copy from your browser address bar.
Click the Import button and the clip will be added to your timeline.

Import and cut Audio

Import Audio

Importing Audio in Flixier is similar to importing any other media. Click on the blue "Import" button in your Library, select the source you want to Import from, select the file and then click the Import button.

Cut Audio

To cut an audio clip the process is again very similar to cutting any other media. Drag and drop the clip from the Library to the timeline. Make sure the clip is selected and then click the Cut button or the S button on the keyboard.

Audio Volume

To change the volume of an audio clip, click on it on the timeline to select it, now look in the Inspector on the right side of the screen and drag the Audio Volume slider.

Fade in/out Audio

To add a Fade In or Out effect click on the clip and then in the Inspector click the Fade buttons.

After that, in the timeline you will see a blue outline that defines the effect. You can drag from the sides of the blue outlines to change the duration of the Fade. te-at

Detach Audio

If you would like to separate an audio clip from a video clip you can use the Detach Audio feature by right clicking the video in timeline and selecting "Detach audio".

Now you can add all the other effects like Fade in and Out to this audio too.
